Reverberation Assessment

Halls and large rooms that have long reverberation times can be rendered unusable for speech or musical performances. Excess reverberation has the effect of reducing the clarity of the speech or sound generated in a room or hall.

Stoneman Solutions were recently engaged to solve a reverberation problem at Nolton Church Hall, Bridgend to reduce it's 4.7 second reverberation time to 1.4s.

The following steps were undertaken:-

    • An analysis of the acoustic characteristics of the hall was carried out.

    • The area and absorbtion coefficient of the acoustic panels that would be required was calculated

    • The colour of the panels was then chosen by the client

    • The locations of the panels were carefully selected before being installed
